Soft, pillowy Indian flatbread with garlic butter—homemade version without tandoor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • cup Warm milk Or water for vegan
  • 2 tbsp Yogurt Plain
  • 2 tbsp Butter Melted, for brushing
  • 1 tsp Garlic (minced) Optional, for garlic naan

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast: Mix yeast, sugar in warm milk; let foam 5 mins.
    Dough: Combine flour, salt, yogurt, yeast mix. Knead 5 mins into soft dough. Cover, rise 1 hr.
    Divide & shape: Punch dough, divide into 8 balls. Roll each into oval.
    Cook: Heat skillet on high, cook naan 1-2 mins per side until bubbles form and char.
    Brush: Melt butter with garlic, brush on hot naan.
    Serve warm with curries.
